First of all, this was amazing! Hopefully you got a chance to come check out our very first pop-up market! It was a lot of fun for everyone involved. Local coffee drinkers enjoyed perusing hand made goods while sipping on our delicious coffee. If you were not able to make it, let me clue you in on what you missed.
But what is a pop-up, anyway?
Well, ‘pop-up’ is just a fancy word for a retail event or get together for the community that ‘pops up’ one day and is gone the next. Our first pop-up market was December 17, from 11-4 at our shop.
At our pop-up market, local art and craft vendors came and set up their booths inside and out of our shop. This event was awesome! Our customers got the opportunity to do some gift shopping for the holidays while they support local makers and crafters. We love being a platform for artists to share their work and engage with the community.
Who was there?
The vendors that were featured included:
Usborne Books & More – A cute book sales shop that focuses on children’s literature
Bead Around Austin – A bead and jewelry vendor with beautiful pieces
Shannon Dzikas Verret – Handmade soaps and knitted children’s hats and toys
3 Cords Haiti – Clothing and décor handmade by deaf students in Haiti, proceeds go to help funding their school
The Surreal Appeal – Handmade bohemian jewelry with a focus in small metals
The experience was excellent! And it’s something that we plan to do more often now! Keep posted with our social media to hear about upcoming events.
